Laurent Pernot
Laurent Pernot is an artist living in Paris. His visual language stems from memory, images and words, which he explores through the experience of the flow of time, impermanence, the visible and disappearance. His work often induces contemplation, playing with our perception.
Graduated from the University of Paris VIII and the Fresnoy National Studio of Contemporary Arts, Laurent Pernot has created a polymorphous body of work through various media: video, installation, photography, light, and sculpture.
His visual language is based on memory, images and words, which he explores through the experience of the flow of time, impermanence, the visible and the disappearing. His work often induces contemplation, playing with our perception, with an attention to a time inhabited by both the past and the present, the alterability of things and beings, fragility and loss.
His research regularly borrows from history, philosophy and poetry, sometimes working in situ or celebrating the memory of personalities or past events. The interactions between man and nature are also among his major themes.
