Leo Orta
Leo Orta, born in 1993 in Paris, earned his degree from the Design Academy Eindhoven in 2019. His multidisciplinary approach spans sculpture, installation, painting, and performance, all converging to probe the fundamental questions of human existence. His art delves into the intricate social and emotional connections that humans forge within their communities and surroundings. Currently residing and creating in Les Moulins Seine-et-Marne, France, Orta's work continues to captivate and challenge.
Beyond his solo practice, Leo Orta is a co-founder of Morph Collective, La Totale (an exhibition association), and the dynamic duo OrtaMiklos, known for their innovative designs and captivating performances.
In 2017, Orta marked a significant milestone with his debut solo exhibition at B10 Gallery (PNCA Portland), running in tandem with his participation in the group exhibition, "The Hunt," hosted at UNA Gallery in Portland.
Since then, Orta's artistic journey has taken him across a myriad of international galleries in cities like Paris, Berlin, Brussels, Amsterdam, Florence, and London. Notably, he showcased his works at prestigious events such as Art 021 in Shanghai (2021) and Design Miami Basel in Basel (2021).
His creative impact is set to grow even further, as in January 2022, Leo Orta's works will find a home in the collection of the MNAC/CCI - Centre Pompidou in Paris. Moreover, he has recently showed solo exhibitions at Christophe Gaillard (2023) in Paris, at Gallery Sohe (2023) in Beijin, at La Patinoire Royale (2022) in Brussels.
