The oldest known use of the pedestal table is thought to be on the island of Santorini at the time of the Minoan civilization which largely disappeared due to a major volcanic disaster around 1600 BC. J.C... Following this cataclysm, the pedestal table will disappear from interiors for more than 3000 years to reappear in France in the 17th century and impose itself almost definitively under Louis XVI. It becomes a very present element until the 19th century.

This furniture is the medium of light and frequently used for spiritualism sessions, around it is a space for meeting and exchange. The object specifically created for French Cliché, is the meeting of several stories. A spectacular porcelain foot composed of different elements from the now extinct factory, from "Listen to the rain", reinterpreted and decorated by Emile Degorce Dumas. A recycled marble top, the colors of which suggest that it could come from French quarries, cut and polished by hand by Vincent Voillat, bears a hollow sign evoking a broad smile. The whole is supported by a resin wood base, a missing link between modernism and Memphis.

VINCENT VOILLAT Vincent Voillat explores the links that operate between a territory (real or virtual), the flows that pass through it, its inhabitants and their memories. He studies more particularly the relationship between the landscape and its perception. He questions the interest we have in the mineral world and in the stories related to this lithic material.
